About New Leaf

Operational leadership, built from real experience

New Leaf Global Services helps founders, executive directors, nonprofits and growing teams build the structure behind their work — stronger systems, clearer priorities, better processes and the operational capacity to actually move things forward.

Founded and led by Jessie Taylor, New Leaf Global Services combines strategic operations consulting with hands-on implementation and Fractional COO leadership

What New Leaf Global services is

Senior operational support without another full-time executive.

New Leaf Global Services is the consulting and Fractional COO practice of New Leaf Global Services Inc., based in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia and serving organizations across Canada.

Founder & CEO Jessie Taylor works alongside leaders who are navigating growth, complexity, transition or simply more work than their current systems can comfortably carry.

That might mean stepping in as a Fractional Chief Operating Officer (COO), building an operational roadmap, improving systems and workflows, leading an implementation project, facilitating strategic planning or helping an organization figure out what needs attention first.

Fractional COO support simply means having experienced senior operational leadership in your organization without hiring a full-time COO.

And if that's not what you need, that's okay too.

New Leaf Global Services is built around the problem first — not the consulting label.

Who we Work With

New Leaf Global Services works with:

  • Founders and entrepreneurs

  • Small and growing businesses

  • Executive directors and leadership teams

  • Nonprofits

  • Social enterprises

  • Community organizations

  • Associations

  • Purpose-driven organizations

  • Teams that have outgrown informal ways of operating

The common thread isn't industry.

It's reaching the point where the work has become more complex than the systems supporting it.

How new leaf global services Started...

A new chapter built from everything that came before it.

New Leaf Global Services grew out of nearly two decades of professional experience across very different environments.

Jessie's career began in the corporate world, where she spent approximately twelve years working across insurance, business development, sales, marketing, relationship management, training, executive support and events.

Her career later moved deeply into community and social-impact work — including occupational health, safety, and wellness, women's shelter services, family support, provincial victim services, harm reduction and leadership within a safe-house program supporting youth exiting sexual exploitation and human trafficking.

Across those environments, the sectors changed.

The operational challenges often didn't.

People were carrying too much.

Information lived in people's heads.

Important work relied on a handful of people holding everything together.

Teams were stretched.

Processes weren't always built for the realities of the people expected to use them.

And leaders were often trying to solve organizational problems while also carrying the emotional weight of the work.

Then the work became personal.

After years in helping roles, education, training and lived experience, she navigated her own journey with mental health and burnout. That experience changed how she thought about work, leadership and organizational responsibility.

It reinforced something she had seen repeatedly throughout her career:

People cannot sustainably carry what their systems were never designed to hold.

New Leaf Global Services grew from that intersection — business experience, frontline leadership, operational problem-solving, lived experience and the belief that organizations can perform well without treating human capacity as an unlimited resource.

The goal isn't to make work perfect.

It's to build organizations that function better for the people doing the work and the people depending on it.

Working with Jessie

Practical. Curious. Direct. Human.

Jessie isn't interested in producing a beautiful strategy document that sits in a folder. She gets into the work.

That can mean untangling a process, documenting something that has lived in someone's head for three years, helping a founder decide what to stop doing, leading a project that keeps getting pushed aside, researching an opportunity, setting up a system or helping leadership see a problem differently.

Clients have described Jessie's approach as:

Calming. Supportive. Strategic. Curious. Collaborative. Operationally savvy.

She brings the commercial thinking of her corporate background together with the people-centred judgement developed through years of community and frontline work.

That combination shapes how New Leaf Global Services approaches every engagement:

Practical over theoretical.
Useful over impressive.
Built to work in real life.

Business & Operational Experience

Jessie's corporate and business background includes experience across:

  • Business development

  • Sales

  • Marketing

  • Relationship management

  • Training and facilitation

  • Executive support

  • Events

  • Occupational health and safety

  • Workplace wellness

  • Strategic planning

  • Partnerships

  • Program development

  • Systems and process development

  • Project and operational leadership

Today, she also puts that work into practice through New Leaf Global Services Inc.'s other operating ventures, The BraveArt Project and Second Tide Property Services.

That means the systems, decisions and growth strategies Jessie recommends to clients are also being tested every day inside real operating businesses.

Trauma-Informed Practice Training & Facilitation

Jessie's trauma-informed background also shows up in her training and facilitation work.

Her approach is not about turning every workplace into a therapy environment.

It's about helping organizations understand how safety, trust, communication, boundaries, power and client experience influence how people interact with systems and services.

That work has included the development and delivery of trauma-informed training for client-facing environments, including trauma-informed practice for tattoo artists and tattoo studios, alongside broader workshops related to leadership, workplace systems, community services and wellbeing.

Community, Advocacy & Social Impact

The community work is not separate from the business. It informs it.

Jessie's community-sector roots include work supporting women and gender-diverse individuals, families affected by domestic violence, supervised family access, Provincial Victim Services, harm reduction and youth exiting sexual exploitation and human trafficking.

Her advocacy is also shaped by lived experience of domestic abuse and by her own experience with mental-health strain and burnout after years in helping roles.

Those experiences have influenced a long-standing interest in how organizations can better support the people working inside them — particularly in high-responsibility, client-facing and community environments.

Jessie continues to contribute to community initiatives, including volunteer involvement with the Board of Directors, Fund Development Committee for the Children's Aid Foundation of Nova Scotia.

Through The BraveArt Project, she has also developed creative-wellness programming, therapeutic art initiatives and community partnerships designed to make accessible creative wellness available to people who may not otherwise have access to it.

Across those environments, the recurring work has been surprisingly similar:

  • Building systems.

  • Coordinating people.

  • Managing risk.

  • Creating partnerships.

  • Developing programs.

  • Solving operational problems.

  • Keeping work moving when resources are limited.
